I'm Feeling You

Finally!!!! the weekend is here!
been crazily buried in work and staying in the lab for almost 11 hours everyday trying to get that ppt done
and THANK GOD he's satisfied this time
that old man's a hard dude to please
for that matter, i'm only just a poly student
not a uni student studying for his master's degree ya know
all that work load's gonna come back again on monday again
better enjoy this weekend to the max first!!!! :)

speaking of teachers....
joanna and i was given the task of improving our vietnamese friend, cong's (its pronounced as com, dont ask me why XD) english about a month ago
cong arrived at our lab just a few weeks after us to study for PhD in surface tension
puzzles me why he came all the way to a chinese speaking country to do that *scratches head* =/
we did ask him why but he always said, "i have friend in ntust, he say good"
he's married with a kid back in vietnam and plans to go back being a teacher after he graduates
which is er.....3 or 4 years from now
both of us had so much trouble communicating with him at first that we had to resort to hand signs and even drawings so that we each could just get the gist of what the other was saying XD
we teach him everyday by giving him newspaper articles to read and essays to write
then of course, comes that 'life-shortening' process of marking them the next day XD
he's improved quite a lot compared to when he first came
he still has trouble writing sentences with the tenses, grammar, vocab and all those stuff whatever that is
but at least we can communicate through speaking now
XD
and well...lets just say teaching english hasnt been easy especially when one starts to lose patience from the lack of sleep (i meant both of us k =P)
although these teaching sessions still get funny at times :)
man...i've to say i'm impressed with the way our teachers taught us back in kindergarden and primary schools
it sure requires lots of patience and understanding to teach
to all the teachers and teachers-to-be out there; 佩服了!!

this photo was taken today in the lab when we were marking his essay...
look at miss joanna wang's peik ceik (its hokkien) face XD
hahahahahaha, she looks pissed alright
so sorry joanna, i just cannot help but keep laughing when i think about you explaining all that sentence structure thingy to him and he says "why like that? i dont understand" every time
after all this time, he has become quite close to us,
even brought coffee for us from vietnam few days back
wooohooo!!! :D

i've been feelin so excited about the asia conference
but cant see it online :(
can somebody please send the sermon notes that you have taken down?
argh...anybody buying the dvd? XD

oh yeah, the temperature here has also dropped quite a lot nowadays
probably what got me down with a cold and sore throat
the lowest it went was about 12 degrees on wed
everyday, its shivering like crazy when the cold wind blows into our faces
but mk and i still do walk around half naked (topless, dont think in the other direction XD) in our dorm at times
cant imagine when it comes winter time in january when the temperature's gonna drop to 8 degrees..sheesh

"gor...yong...san...ni...itch...GO!!"
initial d for the win!!
went back to watching it just a few days back
can never get enough of it
always drives the adrenaline through my veins whenever it comes to cars drifting
and the trance music just gets the mood back into eurobeat fever
well...i dont exactly watch the anime purely because of the cars...although they do play a big part *evil grin*
sometimes the characters are just plain silly and hilarious =P
and believe it or not, they do teach some valuable....lessons in life
i really really have to try this sport one day :D

speaking of music,
now i'm really fond of carlos santana's music
well...i only enjoy those that he collaborates with other artists
like chad kroeger, michelle branch (she's got really pretty eyes XD) and steven tyler
his electric guitar tunes just...stands out from the rest
havent got to the stage of appreciating his latin rock music though
in fact, he's my inspiration to mastering the electric guitar when i get back
i dunno, maybe its just me =/
jc was saying he prefers eric clapton's acoustic guitar playing style
not to mention those who like the other famous guitarists such as kid rock, buckethead, kirk hammett, herman li and who could ever forget, the one and only legendary slash
even so, i think its safe to say that we all agree on one thing;
each of them have their own unique style of playing the guitars
oh by the way...the mv rockstar by nickelback is good for laughs too XD

oh, i'm feelin the way you cross my mind :)
