Taiwan Here I Come!!! (part 1)

first of all, i'm so sorry if you guys were expecting me to update yesterday
after everything was settled i was sooooo tired
thank you to all those who came to sent me off at the airport
very much appreciated the effort
in fact, i think you guys were the biggest group there to show up
i was really touched to see so many people caring for me
i mean..my thinking was like its just a flight away for six months who woulda cared?
anyway, thank you all once again
for those who couldnt or didnt make it...
well, you have your reasons and i've learnt to be a forgiving person
in any case, i'm won't hold any grudges against u guys
oh and yeah, i'm so sorry i didnt have the time to spend with you guys
stupid me left my passport at home *smack forehead*
thank God i reached the airport in time
i was speeding like crazy on the tpe after the jam

to my cg:
glad to really see all of you guys
if you havent heard, yes i did cry when i read the card
thank you very much for it
not to mention the cg shirt as well,
simple and yet beautiful
and of course the chocolate cookies!!!
(i havent touched it yet cause i'm starting to have a bad sore throat XD)

to my brotherhood:
pretty surprised to see so many of you
only thought zu, shen and kok was gonna turn up
in any case still happy to see all of ya
hope you guys do well for your final sems in poly

to my poly friends:
glad to see you dudes too
and am sure gonna miss all our laughter and bickering
but nair mind, cause i've got the two rhinos here with me in taiwan

here are the two rhinos on the plane

you coulda prolly guessed we were playing big 2 for the whole flight
you must be thinking buncha crazy people we are
lack of entertainment drives one to do that XD
i couldnt get a good picture of joanna and li jiong cause they were dozing off the whole journey
haha, buncha funny people i tell you
well,i'll post some pics of them the next time
taiwan is uber hot i tell you..for now at least
34 degrees C and humid to the max with no wind!!

we met our seniors mr cloud (dont ask me what kinda name is that cause i'm as puzzled as you are) and mr qi...i think

mr cloud and mr qi

i was so hungry i just dove right into dinner and forgetting to take photos
anyway, we had sorta like a pepper lunch kinda thingy but on hot piece of rock
the food here in this kinda eateries aint cheap
that meal's about NT$120,about SGD$6
i'll show pictures of my dorm another time
its uber cui
think s'pore between 1970s and 1980s
that kinda buildings
at least there's air con in the room

anyway, there are quite a few things i notice about how taiwan is different from s'pore

1) roads are very very dusty
you can practically see the dust floats around for 2 or 3 secs when a car zooms past you!

2)super helluva lots of scooters
i tried countin the number of scooters that passed me in ten secs and guess what,
turned out to be 8 or 9

3) the girls here around my age group are quite good looking
um...no offence to the girls back in s'pore
but they really are better looking here, and friendlier too!!
ok la,i'll have to say that some s'pore girls are pretty and friendly too
but as a whole, they will prolly kena owned by the taiwanese gals

4) dogs dogs dogs
i saw dogs everywhere and only one stray cat after 48hrs
even saw a golden retriever runnin around

ahh,me super duper tired now
cant think of anymore to type
i think i'll update tmr again XD

What Hurts The Most

finally, the day has come for me to go to taiwan
its like my last few hours here in s'pore
i've never left home alone for sucha long time
the most when i was in india for two weeks

from mon all the way till yesterday,
i'm thankful for the friends who showed concern for me
going out for dinners with me
even sending me messages
fear not for i'll keep in contact with all of you
at least...i'll try
still dunno how busy i'm gonna be there

first of all, i would like to thank the cg
i'm sorry for missing some of your birthdays at the EOY
namely Jin Hong and Chris
all this time each of you have played a part in making me feel at home
and i really treasure the friendship we had
not to mention all the fun and laughter
i'm very thankful for all of you
i was really touched when all of you came for the dinner on tues
mabbe it wasnt much to some of you, it really meant a lot to me
although its been like only 5 to 6 months
you guys have become a very special part of my life
somewhat etched into my heart like a carving onto a stone tablet

next, the brotherhood
the lovable buncha soccer fanatics
its been so many years since we know each other
some since our pri and sec days
i thank y'all for always being there when i'm feeling down
and for the times i needed your advice on life
though we may not say much to each other about such stuff
i know you guys care and i do for you dudes as well
you guys ROCK!!!

last but not least, the friends and bros from poly
these three years have been really wonderful to have you walking by my side
we may have our disagreements on the way we do things
and even can be a little ti ki at times
but at the end of the day,
we'd still be the friends that we were

recently,i had a friend who had some relationship problems
well, although she was hurt pretty bad emotionally
i hoped the advice and company made her feel
she still has friends and a God who cares about her

Perserverance Is The Key

today wasn't exactly productive
but ahhh..no reason why i should not just relax after the exams
not to mention the new sem starts next week for another six months
been watching anime almost the day
and just for the record,
i only played RO for half an hour
so please for goodness sake,
i'm NOT addicted!!!! XD

also had a talk with ouyang earlier
yup, she's chris's neighbour on the hill
she seems a nice person although somewhat hyper at times
but aint most girls like that? *scratches head*
we had a talk on...well, something taboo
i rather not mention it here

last but not least, met the brotherhood today!!
it wasn't full but the usual people were there and here they are...

shen and his gf, xinyi

kok

zubin

unfortunately, they were all so caught up playing some soccer game on their psp
the only time they stopped was during dinner
speaking of which, dinner was pizza treated by shen's mom
argh, all this eating of fast food and the past few days dining outside
makes me feel really exceptionally oily
i think i better head down to the gym tomorrow before meeting the cg for dinner
anyway looking back, how long has it been since i know shen and his mom?
man, it was since P1 back in KCP
11 years later here we are on the way to becoming working adults
time sure passes fast

109 hours and 20 mins from now and i'll be on my way to taiwan
:(

Drift Fever

the exams are finally over!!!
like what adrian said,
you can pat yourself on the back for the job done
well, good or bad...its not something to think about anymore
and like elyn said,
since you've already done your best and there's nothing more you can do,
just leave it into His hands and continue to have faith in all that we do

so to treat ourselves for all the hard work these past few weeks
mund, lim, mk, ah teck and i went to catch a movie at J8 yesterday
we watched a thai movie called 4bia
yeah its 4bia instead of "phobia"
most of you woulda guessed its a horror movie
its about 4 short horror stories
but i won't spoil it for those wanna catch it at the movies by telling the story here
its pretty good if you can "appreciate" horror movies
unlike the lady in front of us who kept screaming whenever the ghost appeared
and i can imagine lim scaring the crap outta himself taking photos when using the phone camera
hehehe (part of the movie plot was about it)

i think outta all the ghost movies i've seen,
best of all was still nang nak
a horror film about a love story
anyway, i think the thais and japanese still make the best horror films
hollywood horror movies really cannot make it compared to 'em
not to mention most of them are re-makes

i've been quite hooked onto the initial D anime series lately
and their music as well...the typical techno heavy beat that you will find in most car racing games
yes yes,its mostly about cars but there were other things like friendships, dreams and love life in it also
i remembered a scene where takumi (the main character) saw the girl he loved being so close with another guy
of course he was heart broken...sheesh,which guy wouldn't?
heck, if it was me i woulda been heart shattered...not broken
i guess to a girl, when she is close to a guy friend doesn't mean she likes him
but there are guys who let their imaginations run wild and..you can figure out the rest
i do admit i'm guilty of being like that at times XD
its my way of showing that i care for her
but people will say "you're just jealous!"
then well, what can i say?

there is no disguise that can conceal love for long where it exists or simulate it where it does not

Can You Give Me Hope?

the exams for the past few days havent been goin great exactly
in fact, its the worst exam i've ever taken
i don't feel confident about the answers at all like how i used to be
but its a little too late to turn back aint it?
already 3 down and 1 left
i just hope things arent as bad as i imagine them to be
i'd be happy if i can score an average of B grade for all the subjects
and maintain my GPA...if possible
if not, my hopes of entering uni are dashed....

its amazing how when you've got some thing down, other things also come crashing down on you
all them bad things just seem to come at one go
what they are, i rather not mention it here

Ya know, i was reading this article in the newspapers today on breastfeeding
i know whacha thinking but i was reading for general knowledge XD
anyway, i always thought breastfeeding was just...breastfeeding
nothing complicated but that article really showed me how ignorant i was
there was all sorta reasons both medical and psychological why moms don't breastfeed nowadays
and all those bacteria and viruses involved...sheesh
if you're interested, go check it out on 21/8 edition of mind your body
especially the ladies, the information might come in handy one day for all you know

the final countdown is within your own grasp

Strike First, Think Later

i went for pm again this morning
and i tell its really dreadful dragging yourself outta bed at 5 in the morning
especially when you've got so much on your mind
still, i'm glad i've been going everyday for the past week and today
although i can't go anymore for da rest of this week cause of the exams :(
i really felt refreshed after each session,
like the tiredness all just slipped away to somewhere
if you haven't gone for any of it, whaddya waitin for?

studying for the exams can get really stressful
especially when you've got such competitive classmates
thats why i'm glad Chris introduced RO to me
good for relieving stress after studying for long hours
i'm still a little blank on the game,
sometimes i swear i feel like a complete noob sauce
but she's been very patient teaching me all sorta stuff in the game
THANK YOU Chris!!!!

well,i havent really got much to blog about so i'll stop here
time to get back to studying :)

No Equal, No Weaker

too many matters at hand to leave behind
*sigh* and there's only another 16 more days left....

no past,
no future,
no problems,
just the moment

life's simple,
you make choices,
and you don't look back
all that matters is you know what you want
and goin after it

Respect All, Fear None

first of all, a very big congrats to Josh for passing his TP test.
always knew you could do it and am very proud of you bro!
now its time to get your favourite car hehe; the Mitsubishi Lancer EX.

sarah and i went to the pm at JW this morning.
it sure was difficult dragging yourself outta bed at 5 in the morning but I'm glad I did anyway. still, it felt weird only two people from our cg going there.
although it was only an hour, it was a fantastic time there and they even offered breakfast after the whole event.
not to mention the starbucks voucher they gonna give out if you go five times.
unfortunately, although I'm a sucka for coffee, I don't really go to starbucks often.
(time to be the good guy XD) anybody wants my voucher?
for starters, God answered both of our prayers for you passing your TP test Josh so you better thank Him.
i'm sure there are more answered prayers to come in due time.

after that I went to Mac at JP to do some studying.
i was quite surprised to find so many students there considering it was only around 8:30am
anyway, after i went to get my hair cut...no, shaved would be the right word.
yes, its back to the "botak" hairstyle back in my sec sch days
like what I told Sarah, the barber i always go to since my sec sch days mostly work with shavers.
in fact, he never used scissors to cut my hair even when it was long.
now that's what i call skilled.
oh yeah, my good ol' barber whose shop's called Donald Duck.
if you're wonderin if I'm kiddin about the shop name, well wonder no more

the next section may sound a little nasty to some people
if you cant take people giving you advice i suggest you just skip the next part.
i'm NOT scolding anyone here nor am i holding any grudge,
just telling them to keep their words in check.
i'm also not gonna mention names lest it damage friendships but i'm sure you will know if you're one of 'em.

"your life is very boring le"
this is one of those sentences i really hate people for saying.
sure, you might find what someone likes doing is boring
but everyone is unique and have their own interests so who are you to judge?
call them oversensitive if you want but when a person's in a shitty mood
or they are feeling down inside for one reason or another
but just not showing it on the outside
and with you saying this to him/her,
you're asking for the person to blow up and your friendship to turn sour.
for all you know, that very same person whom you find boring might find your life boring as well.

"you very kiam siap (kiam siap = stingy) le"
if you think the previous one was bad,
i hate people the MOST for saying this.
next time you wanna say that, think about it;
can you be sure that this person is really stingy and
not going through some kinda financial difficulties?
or perhaps they want to save for the future?
we all have our own pocket money but not all of this are equal.
you might have more and i thank God for that
but not all of us are as privileged as you are.
even i sometimes have my own financial difficulties
and when my friends tell me not to be so stingy,
i'll really get pissed off.
you might not think twice spending money on a certain subject like food or fashion or in my case, car magazines
but not everyone spends their money like the way you do.

Next time when you wanna say something like that in the future,
put yourself in the person's shoes
and think about the possibilities for him/her rejecting the offer
instead of criticizing him/her and making a joke outta them.
it may just be a joke to you and you might not mean any harm
but to them it might hurt.

you tried your best and you failed miserably.
the lesson is "never try"

Abolition...

Helllloooooo y'all loyal readers!
sorry havent been updating recently cause of the busy weeks in school
and the recently introduced game XD

well, first up last week was FOP!!
first time i went and honestly taken aback by the number of people there!
man,the whole indoor stadium was full.
the message by mike connor was really good
and it wouldn't have been complete if not for the music by the parachute band and hillsong united.
their songs are great but i think i still prefer casting crowns
"who am i?" and "east to west" are my all time personal favs

enough talk! here are the pictures :)
Nattarat the thai boi

Chris and JH getting busy calling people

Even Elyn has to get her hands dirty *sigh*

i think Chris has a photo of herself along with JH and me too.
anyway, the service was fun
but i'm not too enthusiastic about chasing the last train home those two days.

school hasn't been a bed of roses like some of 'em in uni
especially when you've got 3 tests in a week!
not to mention they were consecutive ones with 2 papers on the second day.
nevertheless,it was a good revision for the comin' exams
and i thank God for studying almost all the right questions.
speaking of school, time sure is passing very quickly.
another 21 more days and i'll be off to Taiwan for the next 6 months :(
i said it before and i'll say it again, i'll miss everyone!

last but not the least
i wanna thank jh for being able to confide with him in some things
don't get me wrong, its not that i don't trust the rest of the cg
in fact, you guys are one of my strongest supports in life
but perhaps he might be the only one to understand what i'm going through
its not easy to always act as if nothing happened on the outside
when i feel like someone is constantly stabbing me on the inside
there are some things i'm not proud of in my life
but its not something that i can reason with
especially when its beyond my control.

its like climbing out of one hole into another
